Tlos, one of the six major (and strongest) cities of Lycia (known as “Tlawa” in Lycian inscriptions), once carried the title “The Bright Metropolis of the Lycian Nation” during the Roman period. In the 2nd century AD, two wealthy benefactors—one being Opramoas of Rhodiapolis—were responsible for significant building works.
